Polygon Amoy Testnet is a new, Sepolia-anchored testnet that has been launched on Polygon PoS. Amoy is an important development platform in the Polygon ecosystem. The testnet provides a simulated environment similar to the Polygon POS mainnet, enabling developers to rigorously test their applications under conditions very similar to the live network.

As an Ethereum-compatible testnet, Polygon Amoy uses Ethereum's Sepolia testnet as the root (L1) chain. Developers deploying on Amoy can continue to rely on basic validators, infrastructure, faucets, tools, etc. provided in a sustainable and future-proof environment.

The previous Mumbai testnet also stopped service due to the deprecation of Goerli.

Amoy Testnet Wallet Configuration

You can add the Polygon Amoy testnet to your MetaMask wallet. Amoy is a designated test network in the Polygon ecosystem that is fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). The process of integrating Amoy with MetaMask is similar to integrating other EVM-compatible networks into your wallet.
